Gymnastics, Ozone Falls and the Zoo...

The girls have been learning more and more at Gymnastics Counts. Katelyn is still in the big gym in the beginner class. She has been working on her pull-over on bars and squat-on on vault. She can also do a forward roll on the high beam by herself. Makinley is also improving, as she is doing handstands, cartwheels and L-holds.

The weather was so nice this weekend (50's and sunny), we were able to play outdoors. We hiked into and explored Ozone Falls on Saturday. The girls did and amazing job hiking and enjoyed the beautiful waterfall. As soon as we got home Saturday afternoon, we loaded up the bikes and headed to the Greenbelt. Makinley rode by herself, with NO TRAINING WHEELS from the Health Department to Panera Bread. Of course Katelyn did a fantastic job also. After a yummy early supper we rode back to where we started. Mimi and Papo caught up with us, so we hung out with them for a while at the Greenbelt. We then went to the park for some swing time as requested by Makinley (that girl LOVES to swing)!

Sunday morning we went to church. Makinley is getting so much better about being in her classroom during church. As soon as I got her settled in her room, she looked at me and said, "I won't cry," and she didn't. She grabbed her blanket and headed over the the carpet where the other children were reading books, picked out a book for herself, sat down and "read". She is turning into such a sweet, big girl.

After church we headed to the zoo. The weather was once again perfect and the girls really enjoyed all the animals. Makinley's favorite were the Zebras and Katelyn will list all of the animals as her favorite :) I know both girls had a blast in Kids Cove on the slides. Aunt Nancy, Uncle Larry and Nana met us there, so that made the day even more special. We stopped at Little Italy on the way home for some yummy yummy food.

Granddad was able to stop by Sunday evening and brought the girls their Valentine goodies. The girls and I love getting to spend time with Granddad!!!

This weekend's activities has made me look forward to warmer weather. We love getting out and enjoying the outdoors. Life is good!
