We went to the Gauley River this past weekend in West Virginia. On the way, we stopped at Christa's house for a visit. Gretchen, Jacob, Katelyn and Kinley seemed to have a really good time together (I wish we lived closer so we could all play together more often). We had a yummy dinner at Red Robin. Then after a good night's sleep, we went to the VA Tech campus to feed to ducks. From there we headed to Fayetteville where we meet Howard, Campbell and Davis for a short bike ride. We stayed in a hotel that night and headed for the Gauley the next morning. The girls and I played at a nice park and had a picnic lunch while Todd played on the river all day Saturday. After naps and a yummy dinner at Bob Evans, we were off to the Gauley Festival where we caught up with the Tidwell's once again. Sunday morning was composed of driving to the Virginia Creeper Trail. We debated the whole way there on whether or not to ride the 17 miles in the rain with the girls... but we did it and I am so glad we did. Fun times were had by all! We are definitely going to return to the Creeper Trail on a more sunny day when the leaves are in full color. After pizza at the local restaurant we were headed for Maryville (of course, we had to find a Starbucks for Todd so he could make it the rest of the way).
So... another great weekend! Life is good!
